KIRKOP UNITED UNDER 15 IN SICILY
The Under 15 team of Kirkop United FC after winning the APS Under 15 Section C3 League orgainized by the Malta Youth Football Association, the players and the staff were rewarded with a 5 day holiday in Sicily. The Nursery has very good contacts with Acireale Junior and next year this team will be visiting Malta. The contingent in Sicily was made up of 21 players and 6 members.The team played a friendly on Saturday 2nd July against Acireale Junior in the Tupparello Stadium of Acireale and lost 4-0. On Monday 4th July the team took part in a triangular tournament in Mascalucia with Belpasso Calcio also taking part. The first match against Belpasso Calcio, Kirkop won 1-0 the goal scored by George Aquilina. In the second match Kirkop drew 0-0 with Mascalucia and lost 4-2 on penalties.
This is the first experience for the Youth Nursery playing abroad. It was a great experience for all the players and the staff. The team also visited Catania, Etnaland, Etna, Giardini Naxos and Taormina.
